The Diamondbacks are on their way to the NLCS, mainly due to their pitching.
They held the Dodgers to 6 runs over the three-game series, with all three starters looking like aces, including rookie Brandon Pfaadt. They kept the Dodgers in check and their 1-2 punch to one hit in the series.
Brent Strom, the pitching coach of the Diamondbacks, was one of the main reasons for it. Strom not only watched his pitching staff crush the Dodgers but received a surprising congratulatory phone call from one of the greatest pitchers of all time: Sandy Koufax.
