The Arizona Diamondbacks picked up a 4-1 win over the Chicago Cubs led by a strong pitching performance.
After Eduardo Rodriguez departed in the 2nd inning with a left lat injury, Andrew Saalfrank, Chrisitan Montes De Oca and Brandon Hughes combined for four shutout innings.
The Cubs did not get on the board until the 7th, with a double followed by a single, both coming with two outs.
This allowed the Diamondbacks to secure a win solely off a strong 5th inning which started with three straight hits. Blaze Alexander, who is having an excellent spring camp, drove in the first run on the night with a base hit in the gap to drive in Pavin Smith.
