Earlier this week, I posted that one of the Arizona Diamondbacks to watch this week was pitcher Allen Webster. It turns out we won’t be watching him in Arizona this weekend as he was optioned to Triple A Reno. In his place, the D’backs recalled relief pitcher Matt Stites, according to Jake Rill at mlb.com.
Webster enjoyed a solid debut on June 13th, getting the victory by tossing 5 2/3 innings of two run ball to beat the San Francisco Giants. In his three starts since then, it has been ugly, culminating in last night’s four earned runs in 3 2/3 innings outing.
