Diamondbacks manager Chip Hale kept his promise and had hot-hitting Brandon Drury in the lineup again Friday, playing second base while Jean Segura moved to shortstop.

Ahmed was hitting .300 on April 16 but is mired in a 3-for-39 slump since then, dropping his average to .190.
“I wanted to give Nick a day. He’s pressing a little bit,” Hale said. “He just has to dial it back.”
Hale said Ahmed has been working with hitting coach Dave Magadan, watching video and “doing a lot of extra work in the cage.
