Joel Payamps, making the spot start with Braden Shipley’s promotion, allowed 4 runs in 6 innings and struck out 7. Rudy Flores went 2 for 4 with a double and a 3-run homer as the main source of offense. Things got scary in the 8th when Yuhei Nakaushiro allowed 2 runs to score, but the Aces offense responded with 2 of their own to bring the lead back to 3.
