Center fielder Ketel Marte is returning to Phoenix to undergo an MRI on his left hamstring, making it increasingly likely he will land on the injured list with a leg issue for the second time this season.
Marte, who missed nearly six weeks with a right hamstring strain early in the season, has been bothered by the left hamstring for the past week.
He exited Tuesday night’s game against the Brewers after hobbling into second base on a double. After missing two games, he returned on Saturday night but again departed early, leaving after ripping a ball into the right-field corner and holding up at first.
