PITTSBURGH – So far in this series against the Pirates, the Diamondbacks have rallied late for one win, then took a tense one-run victory for a second. On Wednesday night, there was no need for a comeback, no need to bite fingernails.
Against a Pirates pitcher with an ERA so low it looked like change for a dollar, the Diamondbacks rang up extra-base hits all over PNC Park, continued the attack against the Pittsburgh bullpen, and cruised to an 11-2 finish that never even seemed that close.
Now, with just a Thursday matinee remaining on this three-city, 10-game road trip, the Diamondbacks are sitting on seven wins and giving the ball to their ace, Zack Greinke.
