The Arizona Diamondbacks had hoped starting pitcher Luke Weaver could avoid the injured list, given how large that group of players on the IL is at present.
But that wasn't the case on Tuesday, when Weaver went on the 10-day injured list with a right shoulder strain, retroactive to Monday, and right-hander Corbin Martin was called up from Triple-A Reno to join the starting rotation.
Martin made his Diamondbacks debut Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium.
