The Arizona Diamondbacks made the following roster moves. The D-backs’ 40-man roster is at 40.
- Selected RHP Yilber Diaz (No. 45) from Triple-A Reno
- Optioned to Triple-A Reno after Sunday’s game: LHP Joe Jacques
For the first time in a long time, the Diamondbacks will be starting someone whose name will, I suspect, be wholly unfamiliar to all but those who pay particular attention to the farm system. Diaz is a native of Venezuela, born there in 2000, who was signed by the team as an undrafted free agent in February 2021.
