All hail Logan Allen. We won’t see him in today’s game - and probably not for a few. But his performance yesterday was very much needed. Coming the day after our starting pitcher recorded precisely zero outs, forcing the D-backs to use six relievers to cover the rest of the game, we needed Jordan Montgomery to eat up some innings. When that didn’t happen, the team turned to Allen, who pitched considerably better than our $25 million man. Most impressively, Logan did so on just one day’s rest, having thrown 22 pitches in the finale against Texas. The 67 pitches thrown were the most by an Arizona pitcher with so little recovery time, since 2016, when Zack Godley tossed 67, the day after a 15-pitch outing.
