Diamondbacks erupt for 9 runs in sixth

The Diamondbacks entered the sixth inning Monday night trailing the Cardinals 5-2.

But Arizona proceeded to send 14 batters to the plate and score nine runs in the inning en route to a 12-7 win over St. Louis to open a four-game series at Chase Field.

Jean Segura went 4-for-5 including a three-run home run in that sixth inning. Welington Castro and Chris Owings each had three hits.

Starting pitcher Zack Greinke (2-2) allowed 11 hits and seven earned runs in 6 2/3 innings but notched his second win of the season.
