As Diamondbacks right fielder Josh Rojas raced in to catch a line drive, he began to think about what would come next. The Los Angeles Dodgers had a speedy runner on third — the potential tying run — and Rojas figured that a quick transfer and a strong throw might keep him from scoring.
Instead, Will Smith’s liner clanked off Rojas’ glove, an error that opened the door for a three-run Dodgers’ seventh inning en route to a 4-2 loss for the Diamondbacks at Dodger Stadium.
“I looked up too soon,” Rojas said, “and it hit off the tip of my glove.
