DENVER – Daniel Descalso was in the Diamondbacks’ lineup at second base for the fourth consecutive game on Monday night, a trend that manager Torey Lovullo said will continue and likely will come at the expense of Ketel Marte.
“I feel like he’s having incredible at-bats,” Lovullo said. “He thickens up the middle of our lineup and he loves this time of the year. He’s got a great mindset. He’s been in this environment for us. So, yeah, you’re going to see a little bit more of him down the stretch.”
Though his production has tailed off in recent weeks, Descalso is clearly the better option from an offensive standpoint.
