The Arizona Diamondbacks fell to the Phillies with a final score of 5-3 as they could not quite complete a late-game comeback.
Merrill Kelly got the start for the D-backs; he would go six innings, allowing three earned runs on just three hits. But it was four walks that allowed the Phillies to pounce on the Diamondbacks early.
After falling behind 3-0, the Diamondbacks offense looked dead in the water. Ranger Suarez tossed seven shutout innings, allowing only four hits.
It was when the Phillies turned towards the bullpen that the D-backs were finally able to put some runs on the board.
