Diamondbacks closer Fernando Rodney recorded his 300th career save on Friday night in a 13-11 victory over the Miami Marlins.
Rodney recorded the final out against Dee Gordon and shot his signature arrow into the sky.
Rodney became the 28th major-league pitcher to record his 300th save.
With 300 saves, Rodney is also only 29 saves behind Francisco Cordero (329), the all-time Dominican-born saves leader.
Rodney also is close to another rare accomplishment. With 39 saves this season, he’s just one shy of becoming the second pitcher in history to reach the 40-save mark at age 40.
