The Arizona Diamondbacks have called up MLB’s #51 prospect Brandon Pfaadt to make his debut against the Rangers on Wednesday.
Pfaadt was drafted in the fifth round of the 2020 draft by the Diamondbacks and was later pulled up to triple-A last year.
In Spring Training, Pfaadt recorded a 3.75 ERA throughout his four starts.
So far this season in triple-A, the 24-year-old has allowed 11 earned runs in 25.1 innings and has recorded 30 strikeouts.
After releasing Madison Bumgarner and having Zach Davies enter the 15-day IL, the D-backs are in desperate need of some more starting pitching.
