On the mound: RHP Archie Bradley, coming off an ugly first start of spring training, threw three sharp innings against the Padres, wiggling out of a first-inning jam before cruising the rest of the way. Bradley gave up back-to-back singles to open the game but picked off CF Travis Jankowski, struck out 1B Wil Myers and got RF Hunter Renfroe to bounce to short. “It makes you feel better,” he said. “But even with the results today, I was able to accomplish the things I wanted to work on. I threw the change-up a lot more, used the two-seamer in and out, mixed things up.
