Center fielder A.J. Pollock realizes his days in the only organization he’s known might be nearing an end, a possibility he has been reminded of recently by well-wishing fans and curious reporters. But, he said, he is trying not to think about this.
He doesn’t want to dwell on what could be an emotional final stretch or think about what his impending free agency could bring. He doesn’t want outside factors like those to possibly affect the way he plays.
He thinks he’s let enough of those sorts of things come into play already in recent weeks.
