Diamondbacks center fielder A.J. Pollock left Monday night’s game after diving for a ball in the ninth inning of their game against the Brewers at Chase Field.
Pollock has a left thumb sprain and will see a hand specialist on Tuesday for further evaluation, manager Torey Lovullo said.
Pollock left his feet on a dive in left-center field on a ball hit by Tyler Saladino. He missed the ball, and in the process his wrist appeared to bend awkwardly as he tumbled over himself.
He left the field with a trainer and went immediately into the dugout tunnel.
