The Diamondbacks have come to terms on a one-year deal with Wilmer Flores, an agreement that gives them a versatile infielder and could allow them to shift second baseman Ketel Marte to center field.
Flores, whose agreement was first reported by ESPN’s Jeff Passan, will receive a $3.75 million in salary this year. The deal includes a team option worth $6 million for 2020 that comes with a $500,000 buyout, bringing the guaranteed value of the agreement to $4.25 million. The contract is pending a physical exam.
Flores, 27, has spent his entire professional career with the New York Mets.
