Well that didn’t take long.
The Diamondbacks make their first real move of the offseason, grabbing Eugenio Suarez from Mariners in return for Carlos Vargas and Seby Zavala. It was first reported by Bob Nightengale.
The acquisition of Suarez solves a couple of holes for Mike Hazen, firstly filling a 3rd base position that was a problem all year long for the team. Outside of an early season surge from Longoria, the team struggled to get any production from the position, ending the 2023 season with a .234/.303/.340 line, good for a 75 wRC+.
