When this series started, I was confident we would at least win a series split against the Tampa Bay Rays, 11 games out of first place in the American League West. Nope. Instead, we got the Rays over the hump to reach a heretofore elusive .500 season.
Umpire Dan Bellino made many bad calls, often converting obvious balls into strikes. Busch Gardens will still be there tomorrow, Dan. Today, more than one batter left the plate going, “Huh?” Once again, I can’t wait to see the Umpire Score Card for this game to see if Bellino was as bad for us as I thought he was.
