Diamondbacks 5, Padres 9: At least we didn’t get no-hit

Madison Bumgarner’s hellish struggles continued, with his worst outing to date. This one lasted only two innings, and involved four home-runs as the Padres took a 6-0 lead. They then got two more long balls off Taylor Widener in the third. After the second. our Win Probability was down to 0.9% after 2.2 innings. The only real point in watching thereafter was to see if the Diamondbacks were going to get no-hit, because after six innings, that looked likely to be a thing, with the Diamondbacks providing some REALLY ugly at-bats. However, Kole Calhoun ended that, and the shutout, with his third home-run of the year, in the seventh.
