One inning into today’s game, the D-backs were 5-1 up. Unfortunately, they let the Giants score ten unanswered runs, managing to stop San Francisco from scoring just twice in their nine times up. Brandon Pfaadt lasted only four outs, allowing six hits and a walk, with a pair of strikeouts, and being charged with three earned runs. Of the ten pitchers Arizona used, only two - Kyle Backhus and Brandon Bielak - managed to work a whole inning without being charged with a run. Kyle Nelson allowed a two-run homer in the third, while non-roster invitees John Curtis^2 and Scott McGough were the best known names to give up a run in action this afternoon.
