The penultimate game of Spring Training, and the first game at Chase Field of 2019, saw Luke Weaver face off against White Sox starter Erwin Santana. Weaver started off shaky, walking the first leadoff hitter Leury Garcia on four pitches and following up with a Yoan Moncada single to center that put runners on the corners with no outs. He almost got out of it, though, but when Moncada tried a two-out steal attempt, catcher John Ryan Murphy air-mailed the throw into center field, allowing Garcia to score from third.
