The Diamondbacks dropped the opening game of this important 4-game rematch of the 2023 NLCS last night. Ryne Nelson would be tasked with returning the Snakes to the Win column, but he would be opposed by the Phillies’ ace, Zack Wheeler. Nelson’s struggles at Chase in his career have been thoroughly noted on this site, but it seems that, at least this year, a lot of his issues at home are BABIP-related. At home, Nelson suffers from a .360 BABIP, but on the road, that mark is a more palatable .299. Most every other metric of importance is either comparable or better at home than on the road.
