The 2016 season came to an end at Chase Field today, as the Diamondbacks and the Padres contested a low scoring game. Matt Koch pitched six strong innings but was left with a no decision, as he left with blister trouble yet again. The bullpen contrived to give the Padres the lead, but just when it seemed all was lost, Phil Gosselin delivered a walk-off single to end the season on a high note.
As the season wound to its inevitable conclusion, we found ourselves staring into the abyss of the offseason. For a season which was interminably long, the end sure seemed to come quickly.
