It would be a deeply unlovely experience to type the words “We got blown out by the White Sox, the worst team in Major League Baseball, this evening,” even if that’s what wound up happening. So I’m not going to do that.

Anyway. Erick Fedde took the mound tonight for the Chicago White Sox. Scott McGough started for us, which led to the broad expectation that he’d be the opener for Tommy Henry, though it turned out not to be quite as simple as that. Henry did wind up pitching some innings for us, and there were indeed consequences to that, but that didn’t happen until later.
