The first inning took 37 minutes and close to seventy pitches between the two teams, as Colorado scored three, but Arizona responded with four in the bottom of the frame, including Jean Segura's 13th home-run of the year. Robbie Ray settled down, and ended up with a typically Ray-esque outing. He went five innings, allowing four hits on six hits and a walk with seven strikeouts, becoming the first D-backs pitcher since Dan Haren to record 200 strikeouts in a season. Matt Koch picked up his first career save in his second outing, working four scoreless innings, on two hits and a walk with four strikeouts.
