If you had told me Jordan Montgomery would anchor the team’s first shutout of 2025... Well, I’d not have believed you. But he threw 2.2 scoreless innings, and a largely B-bullpen followed up with 6.1 more of the same, completing a six-hitter. Yes, it was against the Rockies. But we’ll take it. It was certainly an improvement for Montgomery after his dismal first outing: he allowed three hits and a walk, striking out a pair. Bryce Jarvis tossed up a pair of zeroes, on two hits and a walk with three K’s, followed by scoreless innings from John Curtiss, Juan Morillo and Kyle Amendt.
Diamondbacks 1, Rockies 0: Zero-sum game
