Diamondbacks 1, Philadelphia 12: All Wet

Well, the good news today is that we got a pretty spectacular early afternoon thunderstorm here in Tucson, some of the evidence thereof being visible in the cover image. There was really no good news in terms of the the baseball game. Tommy Henry got this afternoon’s start, going up against Phillies ace Zack Wheeler in what pretty much everyone expected would be a mismatch of fairly grotesque proportions. And sure enough, both pitchers lived up to (or down to) expectations. Let’s get to it.

It was a hot, muggy day in Philadelphia, which we might have hoped would be a drag on Wheeler, but he came out dealing in the top of the first, sitting down Corbin Carroll, Ketel Marte, and Joc Pederson with only ten pitches thrown.
