Jeremy Hellickson gave the Diamondbacks six innings of one-run ball, scattering four hits and two walks with five strikeouts, in a very decent outing. The only run that scored against him came on a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning, with a fast runner on third-base just able to get home before the throw home from Ender Inciarte - the play withstood an appeal from Chip Hale. After a scoreless inning from Matt Reynlolds and David Hernandez, Josh Collmenter allowed San Diego to pad their lead in the eighth, allowing two runs on three hits, before Silvino Bracho came in and stranded a runner on third, he had inherited with one out.
