The Diamondbacks welcomed back Ketel Marte to the lineup after a 17 day stint on the IL, but the offense just never could get going tonight. That could be somewhat expected against the very tough Houston lefty, Framber Valdez, but there felt like zero fight from the offense on the night. Only two runners reached second base all night and there were only seven baserunners in total (four on walks and one on a Fielder’s Choice).
Brandon Pfaadt was coming off a strong start against the Dodgers on Sunday, but he and the bullpen ran into a buzzsaw of their own in the form of Yordan Alvarez.
