SAN DIEGO – After a minor hiccup, A.J. Pollock appears to be back on course to return to the Diamondbacks by the end of August.
Pollock took batting practice at High-A Visalia on Thursday and was expected to play the evening game against Stockton.
He was not in a lineup the last three days, manager Chip Hale said, because a car drive from Southern California to Visalia left him with a "really tight back, (soreness in the) intercostal area and he didn’t want to chance playing.”
Pollock returned to action several weeks ago in an Arizona League game following major surgery in April for a fractured elbow.
