Every time the Diamondbacks’ full contingent of players report for their first official workout as a team, Diamondbacks ownership and management address the group at Salt River Fields and talk about the expectations for the upcoming season.
That day came on Tuesday, but for as big as the expectations are about 2016, the annual speeches were kept to a bare minimum this year.
Only two people addressed the team on this particular day – manager Chip Hale and President and CEO Derrick Hall.
“We’ve tried different approaches,” Hall said. “At times, we’ve had four or five speeches, which is tough for a room full of guys who are ready to get out there for their first full days.
