LOS ANGELES -- The D-backs on Thursday placed reliever Rubby De La Rosa on the 10-day disabled list with inflammation in his right shoulder and recalled right-hander Jake Barrett from Triple-A Reno.
De La Rosa had his contract purchased from Reno on June 23 after spending most of the last calendar year battling elbow issues and trying to avoid having a second Tommy John surgery.
In six appearances for the D-backs, De La Rosa has a 5.40 ERA, but all three of the runs he allowed came in one inning.
"He came in today just a little stiff, and we just figured [putting him on the DL] was the right thing to do, given his walk to get back here," D-backs manager Torey Lovullo said.
