More From Diamondbacks News
The Dbacks started their weekend series against Padres on the wrong foot, dropping their opener 4-2. Arizona wasn’t able to muster any type of offense beyond the heavy amount of walks they received early on in the game. San Diego didn’t exactly overpower either, but a little bit of small ball on their end was enough to push them through.
In what has become a common trend in Dbacks games, scoring came early and in the 1st inning. It was San Diego that jumped out to the head start. After a rare fielding error by Paul Goldschmidt, a Yonder Alonso double handed the Padres a 1-0 lead.
