A common theme this season for the Arizona Diamondbacks is a next up mentality. Especially when the team catches a bad break and a key player goes down with injury. That was the case once again when the Dbacks announced earlier today that Lourdes Gurriel Jr was headed to the 10 day IL with a calf strain. The Dbacks turned to Randall Grichuk to start in Gurriel’s place tonight in left field and Grichuk absolutely put this offense on his back tonight. Grichuk started off his big night with a big 2 run home run in the first inning.
