The Diamondbacks kicked off the draft yesterday by taking Dansby Swanson at 1-1. Now we get into the deeper rounds where advanced scouting really kicks in.
The best talent left on the board as we go into Day 2 of the draft is Donny Everett, a right-handed high school pitcher out of Clarksville, Tennessee.
Other surprises from Day 1 include,Daz Cameron falling to the Astros at 37 and Walker Buehler falling to the Dodgers at 24. On the othe side of the surprise equation, the Detroit Tigers had the longest reach of any club in the first day of the draft, selecting Tyler Alexander, a left-handed pitcher from Texas Christian University.
