David Peralta played in an extended spring training game at Salt River Fields on Saturday morning, and Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo made it sound like he could get his left fielder back from the injured list in near future.
Peralta, who is out with shoulder discomfort, took eight at-bats on Saturday morning and “got through them just fine,” Lovullo said.
From the sound of it, Peralta’s timing at the plate looked so good that Lovullo doesn’t believe a proper minor league rehab assignment will be necessary.
“It hasn’t been a tremendous amount of time where he’s stepped out,” Lovullo said.
