However, after Godley allowed six runs and walked six in 3 2/3 innings against the Cubs, D-backs manager Chip Hale said he wanted to speak with Godley as well as pitching coach Mike Harkey to make sure that fatigue was not a factor in his struggles.
"We're writing his last start on Friday off as maybe being a little overamped," Hale said referring to the fact that Godley was pitching against his former organization at Wrigley Field. "Not being able to throw strikes. Six walks. That's not him. That hasn't been him. We're going to work with him on some things, Mike will work with him on some mechanical stuff -- maybe he was a little bit rushed in his delivery.
