Launched in 2013 with participation from more than 6,000 students, 200 teachers and 100 schools, the Arizona Diamondbacks Science of Baseball, presented by Chase and Insight, aims to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) to students through classroom theory and practical applications of the sport of baseball. Before this Friday's game against the Astros, the D-backs will host 4,000 Arizona students at the second annual Science of Baseball & STEM Showcase at Chase Field. In addition, the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation will present 10 STEM clubs and teachers with a $2,500 grant to support their projects, totaling $25,000.
