LOS ANGELES -- The D-backs overcame an early injury to starting pitcher Taijuan Walker and received an outstanding pitching performance from reliever T.J. McFarland as well as a homer by Paul Goldschmidt and two by A.J. Pollock to beat the Dodgers, 9-1, on Saturday night at Dodger Stadium.
The win was the D-backs' 11th regular-season victory in a row over the Dodgers, who swept Arizona in the 2017 National League Division Series. The victory also gave the D-backs their fifth straight series win to open the season.
Walker was forced to leave the game after the second inning with tightness in his right forearm, but McFarland picked up the slack tossing four shutout innings while allowing two hits.
