SEATTLE – The Diamondbacks want to add a starting pitcher, one who can slot near the front of their rotation -- the kind they have sought for years. But General Manager Dave Stewart said the question the club is confronting is when is the best time to strike.
“I don’t know if it’s better to address it at the winter meetings or now,” Stewart said during batting practice Monday from the visitors’ dugout at Safeco Field. “We have to sit down and figure out when would be the best time to address it.”
For now, Stewart has been gauging the market.
