The Diamondbacks are staying quiet in their search for a new general manager, but bits and pieces of information have trickled out in recent days, including the revelation on Saturday night that a well-regarded executive turned down an opportunity to interview.
Former Blue Jays General Manager Alex Anthopoulos was contacted by the Diamondbacks but opted not to interview, according to a report by Jon Heyman of Today’s Knuckleball.
The report suggested Anthopoulos, who joined the Dodgers front office this year, did not want to relocate his family after having recently moved to Los Angeles. The report also mentioned the possibility that Anthopoulos might be wary of the level of involvement of Diamondbacks ownership.
