WASHINGTON – It was around this time last year when Diamondbacks right-hander Bradley Shipley was told he had fraying in his elbow ligament and that surgery might be needed.
He didn’t end up needing surgery, and on Friday night he’ll make his final start of what has been a fully healthy season. So not only did Shipley reach the majors and show he’s capable of having success here, he also managed to get through a year without his elbow barking again.
“Pretty much the whole first half last year I had to battle with my elbow,” Shipley said.
