LOS ANGELES – The Diamondbacks sold off another bullpen piece on Sunday, shipping right-hander Tyler Clippard to the New York Yankees, the second veteran reliever the club has moved this month.
In addition to shedding roughly $5.6 million owed to Clippard the rest of this season and next, the Diamondbacks also acquired a pitching prospect they appear to be very high on in right-hander Vicente Campos.
“We believe that he is going to be the prospect that he was in the past for the Yankees,” General Manager Dave Stewart said. “We feel that we’re getting a very, very good player.
