MIAMI -- The D-backs expect third baseman Jake Lamb back in the big leagues by June 1, according to manager Chip Hale.
Lamb, who landed on the 15-day disabled list on April 21 with a left foot stress reaction, went 2-for-4 with a single, a double and a walk in five plate appearances in the same extended spring training game as All-Star righty Patrick Corbin on Monday. Lamb did not run or play the field.
"He's close," Hale said of Lamb. "He's close to getting out there. He's going to hit again in a game and not run, and he's close to next week probably getting into some games and playing regularly.
