No news was good news on Wednesday regarding the status of Diamondbacks ace Zack Greinke and his tight left oblique.
Manager Chip Hale, during his morning news conference prior to Arizona’s game against the visiting Phillies, said there was no update on the star right-hander but that the team should have a clearer picture about Greinke’s status by Friday.
That’s the day the Diamondbacks likely will have to make a decision regarding Greinke’s next scheduled start, which falls on Monday.
During his weekly appearance Wednesday on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM, Chief Baseball Officer Tony La Russa mentioned Friday as a pivotal day.
