The D-backs traded reliever Tyler Clippard to the Yankees on Sunday, a baseball source confirmed to MLB.com. Arizona will receive right-hander Vicente Campos in the deal. The clubs have not confirmed the deal.
Clippard, 31, was 2-3 with a 4.30 ERA in 40 appearances for the D-backs this season, his first with Arizona. He also is under contract for $6.1 million next season.
The 10-year veteran is returning to the club that selected him in the ninth round of the 2003 Draft. Clippard has a 2.97 career ERA with the Yankees, Nationals, A's, Mets and D-backs.
